Veritas manages some collective urban services
These are activities that improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and are aimed at the maximum protection of the environment.
Integrated management of cemetery and funeral services, of the wholesale fish market of Venice, of environmental reclamations, of post-mortem landfills and of specific services linked to the typicality of the Venetian territory (urban maintenance, setting up of pedestrian paths in case of high tide and snow); management of heating and public lighting. Veritas also manages the utilities inside the port of Venice (networks and supply of water, gas, electricity).

In a context such as the current one, operating with respect for the environment and the territory also means aiming to produce energy from renewable sources. In this perspective, Veritas is carrying out numerous initiatives in the field of development and application of renewable energies.
Proof of this approach is the installation of photovoltaic panels in many municipal buildings: the use of a free and inexhaustible source such as solar has made it possible to obtain a total installed power of 3 MW, with a very low environmental impact. Veritas, moreover, has other projects underway linked to renewable energies, including the construction of cogeneration plants for district heating or industrial processes, capable of also using biomass (materials of organic, animal, or plant origin) for the production of energy or biofuels for vehicles. Since 2013 a cogeneration plant has been in operation, with Car qualification (high-efficiency cogeneration unit), and the related district heating network capable of producing 50 kW electric and 80 kW thermal.

Veritas carries out numerous initiatives in the field of development and application of renewable energies. The most important among the 38 plants operating throughout the metropolitan area of Venice is the one built in the former landfill of Noale, a fixed plant with a power of 1 MW.
