Criteria and methods for personnel recruitment

Veritas spa, as a company that manages local public services with full public ownership, has adopted since November 1, 2008 a “Regulation on personnel recruitment”, drafted pursuant to DL 112 of June 25, 2008, Art. 18 and subsequent conversion law, which establishes criteria and methods for personnel recruitment in compliance with the principles of transparency, publicity, impartiality, and equal opportunities.
The aforementioned Regulation applies to all employment relationships established with employees, both fixed-term and permanent, and is in accordance with the current Corporate Code of Ethics.

Recruitment procedures

The recruitment procedures comply with the following principles:

  • Publicity. Selections will be carried out through the publication of the related notice.
  • Transparency. The Group Human Resources and Organization Directorate adopts transparent procedures and tools, suitable to verify the possession of attitudinal and professional requirements requested for the position to be filled.
  • Impartiality. Selection procedures must be structured through a fair, neutral, and representative procedure based on the criterion of skills.
  • Equal opportunities.

External recruitment

Access to individual professional profiles, both for permanent and fixed-term positions, takes place through a selection notice published on the company website. This notice will also be shared on the LinkedIn page of the Veritas Group.

General requirements for external access

The general requirements for external access are those contemplated by the current legal and contractual regulations, as well as any subsequent modifications and additions to them.

Further access requirements will be governed on a case-by-case basis directly in the individual selection notices, until this Regulation is amended.

To be hired by Veritas or its subsidiaries – except as provided by current regulations on mandatory hiring – it is essential:

  • possession of the requirements requested by law or specified in the selection notice;
  • considering the public nature of Veritas spa shareholders and the public interest underlying the activities carried out, as well as Veritas’ adoption of a corruption prevention and transparency system in consideration of the public services managed and the particular moral integrity requirements necessary, according to company policy, to be employees of a publicly controlled company: reliability, honorability, integrity, professional ethics, morality, for which a specific declaration of integrity will be obtained;
  • for particular company positions, falling, for example, within the areas at risk of corruption identified by Anac (personnel recruitment and promotion, awarding of works, services and supplies, and any other type of contract or advantage, etc.), or involving the assumption of the role of public official (e.g., environmental inspectors) or system administrator with access to company databases, a prior declaration of compliance with the corruption prevention management system and the anti-corruption policy adopted by the company will be obtained.

The requirements must be met by the deadline set in the selection notice for submitting the application.

For hiring purposes, a fitness-for-duty certificate issued by the company’s competent doctor pursuant to Legislative Decree 81/2008 is required, for which the medical visits and examinations provided by the health protocol related to the position to be performed will be carried out, including checks for absence of drug addiction or use of narcotic or psychotropic substances where required by law. Refusal to undergo such checks, or a positive result, will prevent hiring (including fixed-term or seasonal).
