Veritas was one of the first Italian multi-utilities to adopt a Code of Ethics, a guiding document for the company's directors, employees, and collaborators. It identifies the reference values for the company's activities, in compliance with the law, principles of loyalty and professional integrity, and economic efficiency. Essentially, it establishes uniform behavioral standards for everyone.
The Code of Ethics is a fundamental component of the Organization, Management, and Control Model adopted by the Company pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001 and the corporate management systems.
The Supervisory Body oversees compliance with the application of the Organization, Management, and Control Model and Veritas’ Code of Ethics.
The document confirms Veritas’ commitment to respecting individuals’ rights, without discrimination, acting with fairness and impartiality. Furthermore, it ensures transparency both within and outside the company and commits to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes.
The Code also outlines Veritas’ commitment to environmental protection and sets certain conduct criteria, such as the obligation to provide shareholders with accurate, truthful, and timely information and to ensure maximum transparency toward the market; with regard to employees and external collaborators, independence is guaranteed in recruitment and hiring; in personnel management, fairness, equal opportunities, and absence of discrimination in employment relationships are ensured; and the protection of safety and health is guaranteed.
The Code of Ethics also establishes behavioral standards for all Veritas employees. For example, it prohibits requesting or accepting gifts or favors from individuals, companies, or suppliers.
All parties subject to this Code are required to report any non-compliance and any form of violation, including potential violations – or circumvention – of this Code.
Employee reports are protected under the "whistleblowing" regulations, to the extent and in the manner expressly indicated on the Veritas website in the section Whistleblowing Violation Reports.
